Many people have learned from the experience of reading, self-help books, attend self-help groups, workshops, etc., that negative thoughts create negative experiences. But you know how to "stop" the habit of negative thoughts? Because that is what it is - nothing more. For many people, habits are difficult to change unless you have a strategy.
I have a four-stage process with my clients and me. It is easy to use and very effective.
1. Listen to your self-talk and what you say. Do not judge.
2. Write on a sheet of paper, think of every negative statement you do or say for a week. You may have some negative habits of thought.
In addition, each statement / word that you notice yourself thinking say. After seven days, you have a total for any negative thoughts / explanation.
3. Choose a thought / explanation. Listen to this one thought / explanation. Each instance you think you / hear you say a word or a negative statement: Stop - take a deep breath. Think of the negative thoughts / speech as the ash that landed on the tongue. Flick it out before you burn. Then we can put a positive thought / explanation.
4. Continue this process for each thought / word / statement that you want to remove the back of your mind / habits. It takes 30 to 45 days to remove and replace any negative thoughts / explanation. At the end of 30 -45 days, you notice that you rarely with the negative thoughts / explanation.
Negative thoughts and discord are everywhere, but if you notice remove and replace it with a positive thought / explanation.
